I'd like to get a haircut when I visit. Which salons feature stylists who know how to manage fuzzy wavy/curly hair AND give a fairly creative cut (fyi-- creative for a 40+ fem, not a 16+). I can pay around $100 for a cut though certainly I'd be happy paying less.

Tommy at spin culture did an awesome job on my hair. I'm in my mid 30s and it's a great look. Mine is naturally wavy and he took the time to show me how to style it the way he had done at the salon. It cost $65 including a big tip.
They are at 7802 third avenue in Bay Ridge, it's on the R line. At 86th Street on the same line is a brand new circuit city, they also have a century 21 and other discount stores so you can make a day of shopping and beauty.
