Should I be risky and get a LOT of layers? (saw it in a magazine)?

In Glamour, in the January issue, there were a bunch of hair cuts that they showed, as a suggestion and for ideas. One of them had a LOT of layers all over the girl's head, and I would think that would look so cool! I really want to get tons of layers, but it can either look really good, or really bad. I can usually make a hair cut look great even when the stylist screws up bad, but for this one I'm scared. Should I risk looking great, or not risk looking like my head came out of a shredding machine?

Well, go for it. Tell the person that'll cut your hair to even out the layers. It shouldn't have too much, and it shouldn't have too less. I have my hair layered and it looks great. I have some compliments about my haircut.

At first, I thought my hair looked horrible. But after I took a shower, wet my hair, and used a hair dryer, it looked great.

well i say go for it because i am a risk taker and you only live once..if you trust your hairstylist then discuss it with them and do it..you dont have to get it exactly like the pic because you are not just like the model..u can train it for your look..

i wouldn't risk it. a lot of layers looks great on a very few people. try putting a few and if they don't seem to stand out as much as you want them to get a few more. and so forth.

go ahead risk it

Since a haircut has nothing to do with chemicals that do irreversible damage, I would definetely take the risk. I'm 22 and rarin' to go! I wouldn't even mind dying it a bold colour as long as I'm doing it because I like that look. Recently, I had a short, layered haircut that looks a lot like the one in my avatar. At the salon, it looked very glamourous and all. But, two days later, I realized that I had cut it too short, and it upset me a bit. I was used to bad haircuts as a preteen, and I know I aught to have learnt something from there. Yet, I went ahead and asked for too many layers than was good for my soul. The difference between the haircuts then and now is that I hold my head up high and see beauty in the imperfection as opposed to the shy, awkward way I took it up as a 12-year-old.

I'd be really careful... If you get layers starting too high up you have to style is EVERY day and make sure it's perfectly straight, EVERY DAY. Or else you'll have a mullet... Those styles are dangerously close to mullet already so if you want one you have to be willing to put alot into making it work.
