New Hairstylist?

I am an Asian visiting in the midwest and need a cut and highlighting. Since there aren't any Asian hairstylists in my area, should I look for a stylist with similar hair and cut to my own? My hair is long, tends to be dry and very coarse. Any other tips that I should look for?

New Hairstylist?

Well since you can't find an Asian hair stylist what you may want to do is look up local hair stylists in your area, describe your hair type to them and ask if they can help with your hair.

Make sure they understand that you need someone who can deal with long, dry and course hair. As long as the person knows how to deal with your hair texture, no matter what their race is they should definitely be able to give you a great hairstyle!! Good luck!!

If you find a salon that you are interested in, you might try calling them and asking if they have someone who is familiar with your type of hair. I would also ask how much experience a stylist has, and how long she has worked there. And always make sure they are licensed.

You could go any where just tell them exactly what you are looking for.
