How can I repair my damaged hair?

I've gotten three chemical straightenings done to my hair, and I've gotten it cut short and with lots of choppy layers. I love it, but lately it's been weak and pulling out two pieces at a time in the shower, or coming up as small clumps in the comb.

I use an obscene amount of hairspray and wax and more hairspray and more wax. If you're wondering why, it's because I tease and backcomb my hair like crazy.

This has been weakening my hair also. I got a protein treatment on it not too long ago, but it hasn't been helping.

I can't even wear my hair in a ponytail when I'm relaxing or anything because it comes out.

I really want to dye my hair black and blonde and retouch my raccoon tail, but my stylist (and my mom's best friend) says that it's too weak and that I have to wait until it all grows out again and get another straightening.

I'm furious and agitated and impatient with my stupid hair.

Is there any way I can repair my damaged/broken hair without spending a lot?

Get a deep conditioning treatment from sally's or something. And buy hot oil, and use it twice a week. That's what I do after I dye or bleach or do something like that to my hair and it usally helps A LOT.

You need a reconstructor with a high amount of protein in it. I'd recommend Redken Cat or Snap, Keraphix, BedHead Dumb Blonde or biolage sells treatments five in a little tubes, all are about $20. The Keraphix is probably your cheapest bet. Some wal-marts sell it, buy if you go to JC Penney salon and ask, they will help you. I think the best is the Redken Cat, but I haven't been able to find it lately. Don't listen to what anyone tells you, use it everytime you wash your hair, not once a week and you will be on your way to healthier hair. Trust me, I'm always traveling down that road and I ask LOTS of questions at the hairdresser's. I've tried all of these products I listed. They all work.

First off, don't touch your hair with any more chemicals, it might fall out! Once hair gets damaged to a certain point its hard to bring it back. This is what I would do.. Use all professional products, I would recommend Biologe hydrating shampoo and conditioning balm. Bed head for your styling products, and Paul mitchells hair repair 2-3 times weekly fore a deep conditioning treatment, leave it in for a few hours. Also don't use any heat.. only when you absolutely have too. Get it trimmed every 6-8 weeks, and then in a couple of months you might be able to color it. Sorry there really is no cheap way to fix really damaged hair. If you absolutely have to use store bought, use herbel essence, they are better then some of the other ones.

DEEP Condition. Get a deep condition from the store. Then put foil around your flat iron and tape it making sure that the tape isnt on the plate side. Or simply just use an old straightener. apply the deep condition everywhere on your hair when your hair is wet. and then take 1 inch section and plat iron your hair all though. Every singly peice. IT IS AMAZING. by the way i learned this from a famous hairdresser when i was in beauty school. youll love it.

Stop using so much product on it. I know you don't like that answer, but that is the only way. Ironically, the more you do to it, the worse you make it.

Also, wash it twice a week with mayonnaise, try letting it air dry, use an acohol-free hair spray if you must use hairspray at all, and try nioxin shampoo and conditioner.

You have to accept your hair for what it is instead of trying to make it possess qualities it doesn't naturally have. Furthermore, straight hair is in, not big, overstyled hair. So let it go natural, put some CHI or Biosilk straightening cream in it every day and just give it time to repair!

After i got my hair permed i used Redken CAT products, theres also other products that you can use that will improve your hair, you wanna use stuff that adds protien to your hair...

A really in expensive conditioner that i used once was called Humectant and it was by suave, but id seriously suggest you dont get your hair relaxed for a while if you can, and try using CAT Treatments, or at least go to a salon, and find out treatments that a Proffesional would suggest to rebuild the protien in your hair, but CAT worked for me, but only leave it in your hair for about 5 minutes at a time. Also if your hair was already Fine or medium texture before you got it "Chemically Straightened" your stylist should not have done that becouse your hair could break off all over the place! if your hair isnt Coarse or Wirey, Id go to a different stylist if thats the case. When your hair grows back heathier, try using a flat Iron, or one of those combs that you heat up, there less damging becouse they dont break the disulfide bonds in your hair.

If protien treatments dont seem to be working id seriously take your salonists and your moms advice and just wait it out, also if you use alot of hair spray use a clarrifying shampoo once a week itll help your hair, but dont use it to much becouse it could strip your color.
