Any advice on my EXTREMELY damaged hair? :(?

I got sick of my dark hair and got it bleached. I think the stylist left the bleach on too long under the dryer cuz my head started burning bad, literally smoking. I had to scream for her. Afterwards my previously thick hair was so thin, it looked like the hair on a dead person. This was 9 months ago and it's still breaking off in tiny pieces. Been using Redken Extreme conditioner, Nexxus Humectress conditioner %26amp; Zerran chemical modifer. I think Nexxus %26amp; Zerran are good because they contain keratin. The original plan was to bleach it again later on to get it blond (going from black only turned it orangy red) but after what it did to my hair, there was no way I was doing that) so I decided to dye it back recently to swell my hair shaft and make my hair look thicker again. I've been coating my hair with pure virgin olive oil and letting it soak in (isn't even helping much). Should I cut off a lot of my hair or can I get away with cutting just split ends? Any other recommendations?

use flax seed oil for your hair! it does wonders and is great for your health!

What is flax seed oil?

Many times throughout this web site I use the terms "healthy fat" and "good fat." Usually I do it in a sentence that goes something like... "All of your daily fat intake should come from foods that contain healthy fat." After that I usually give a short list of foods that contain this "healthy" fat. As you probably noticed... this isn't much of a list. The reason for that is because there are very few sources of this hard to find good fat. Luckily though, there is a solution... flax seed oil.

Flaxseed oil is rich in EFA閳ユ獨, essential fatty acids. More specifically it contains the omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. This is the technical meaning of 閳ユ笁ealthy fat.閳?Your body needs these fats to function properly, yet it doesn't produce it on it's own. This makes EFA's an important part of your diet. Other sources of these fats are fish and nuts. Most of the fat in my diet comes from a combination of nuts and flax seed oil.

The hard part about getting all of your good fat from nuts or fish is that nuts contain extra calories from carbs and protein, and it閳ユ獨 not very convenient to prepare and eat a fish like salmon everyday. Flax seed oil on the other hand is as quick and simple as can be, and contains, for the most part, just fat. So... it has less calories than nuts.

It is completely safe to take on a daily basis. It has no negative side effects. It does however have a ton of positive heath benefits. Most people into working out (myself included) take it just because our diet HAS to consist of protein, carbs and fat, and flaxseed oil happens to be a perfect source of healthy fat that our diets require. This is actually just the beginning of its positive benefits.

Some of the giant list of flax seed oil benefits includes:

- Reduces the risk of cancer

- Helps lower cholesterol

- Helps lower blood pressure

- Protects against heart disease

- Aids the growth of healthy hair and nails

- Promotes healthy skin

- Many other really really good things

Go for a sexy short style to give your hair a chance to recover from EVERYTHING that you seem to be doing to it!!

And leave your hair alone for a good year (or more) and sue your stylist for the damage she has done. I'm serious. Her lack of attention could have seriously damaged the skin, let alone your hair.

go bald...let a new set of hair grow again...going bald is cool these days

Get a good trim, maybe a short, stacked, pixie cut for now. It will get rid of that bad old hair. You'll have cute hair and the healthier bunch of hairs to start over with. Also, I know this sounds excessively "cheap," but you can get a box of ash blonde Revlon Colorsilk hair dye and go over the orange red with it, and it will work. It's not even 3 bucks, but it worked for me. Later on, you can go to someone, or yourself, when the hair is healthier, and get it bleached so you can go even blonder if you still feel like it.

seriously, don't use that hair salon/ hairdresser again.

my fried had seriously damged hair after bleaching and she went for a deep-conditioning treatment at a salon to help her hair out. If that's too pricey you could put a ton of conditioner on towel dried hair and leave it in over night, wearing a shower cap to protect it. when you rinse your hair out the next morning your hair should be much better.

I thik you should cut your hair shorter and just give your hair a rest for a while until dying it again.

once a week you need to do a deep conditioning treatment ASWELL as a hair mask.

for the deep conditiong treatment, you will need to go to a beauty ssupply and buy cholesterol, after shampooing apply generously to your hair and put a plastic bag over your hair, then you will need to blow dry it for about 10 minutes then RINSE out.

the hair mask, the best one i reccomend is "enjoy hair care" 's hair mask.

trust me it does wonders

so once again you need to do each one , once a week, one at the beginning of the week and one at the end (ex: mon %26amp;fri)

I so know what you mean.

I was annoyed with myself and bleached my hair. I left in too long and the hair turned into plastic. It was melted. Literally.

So today, I ended it up getting it cut off. And my hair feels and looks so much healthier.

It is very, very hard to treat dead hair when it is brittle, dry and damaged. I'm saying this from experience and numerous products that try to "repair" it.

However Schwarzkopf had very good deep conditioner treatments.

Go natural! Try hair products with no chemicals. They don't leave buildups in your hair and with all the natural oils, its very good for your hair. I buy jessicurl products off the net. Its for curly hair but work great on straight hair too. They smell great too!
