My hair is bleached platinum, but the toner to keep it from being gold won't stay on my hair, a

Any suggestions from stylist or colourists out there? My hair naturally lifts to golden but I don't like it so my stylist puts a toner to neutralize the gold but it has only lasted about 5 days %26amp; it was a permanent colour that she used. I was wondering if I were to just bleach it again %26amp; remove all the colour from the hair, would this work? My hair is pretty strong %26amp; in great condition. I think it can withstand one more round of bleach without causing too much damage. I have even been using a blue/purple shampoo called Shimmer lights to help boost the toner %26amp; cut the gold. I was considering using a violet based colour rather than a neutral as a toner but it kind of scares my that I may turn my hair violet!

No matter who colours my hair, I end up w/ the same problem- it goes gold. I need some help please. I have an aesthetician's license so I am able to purchase all professional hair colouring products.

I think from the sounds of it your best bet at this point would be to do a really heave highlight, and get those pieces as light as you can. It will cause a lot less damage to your hair than bleaching your whole head. The lighter pieces will blend out the gold pieces if there is enough highlights.

If you don't want to go that route shades eq by redken has a toner called platinum ice. If you decide to try this product make sure you get the shades eq developer if you don't the toner wont work and make sure you watch it very, very, very close if left on to long or put on to light of hair it will turn it grey.

PURPLE SHAMPOO!

My hair is bleached platinum, but the toner to keep it from being gold won't stay on my hair, any suggestions

Um maybe you aren't leaving the toner on long enough. You should leave it on at least 30 min. like normal permanent color that way it has a chance to deposit into the cortex. Some stylist just put it on and rinse it out 5 min later because it takes on most people enough that its not golden. Also shimmering lights removes golden tones you were right but it could have ruined the toner you put on it. thus making it fade faster and go back to the tone under it. You don't want to bleach it again because it will just come out the same. A toner is your best be all around, you may be picking a color for your toner that is still in the golden family so it can't really mask any golden tones. Good luck. Hope I helped some.

Your stylist is probably using a high lift tint, instead of a decolorizer on your hair...The problem is that the tint is not strong enough to lift you past that orange stage, and the toner is not dark enough to cover the "brassy "color.

You need to do a full scalp bleach, to get it light enough, or highlight the top to get it light enough,,,,,this is a common problem with blonds...

I recommend that you keep your hair a little darker (for contrast) and highlight to the desired level of blond.

Try using Shimmer Lights by Clariol, it's a Shampoo in a purple bottle and the colour of the shampoo is purple this should help tone the gold in your hair( just use it each time you feel you want to tone down the gold)Or you could get your hair bleached out so it's whiter(leave bleach on a little longer) and takes most of the gold out.

Thick hair!?

Help!

I have extremely thick long hair, and I want to get it cut to about shoulder length. I'm going to ask my stylist to thin it with shears, but do you have any other tips on how to make it much thinner and less volumous? [ie: layering, specific cut].

Thanks :)

Thick hair!?

hun!!! i kno exactly how u feel, and im planning on getting my hair layered so i searched around websites and stuff and they said that gettting ur hair layered will make it feel lighter and stuff, but just in case before u get it done just ask ur stylist! oh and make sure u don't cut ur hair too short cuz thick short hair!! EEEK worse mistake iv'e ever made :)

Hope I Helped!

Good Luck on you new hair!

Thick hair!?

thinning it with shears and layering it, will decrease the thickness significantly so that should be enough for you.

Thick hair!?

i have thick hair too, after i blow dry i look like a lampshade... the bast thing to do is get a de-poofer styling gel/cream for after u wash it...and then flat iron it .. but be careful , dont go crazy w/ the layering....cutting your hair from being long into many layers will decrease the weight of it and actually make ur hair MORE poofy, trust me i id it... make sure u keep half of it pretty long ... layer half

Thick hair!?

I also have very thick hair and I love it because there more hair I will have when I become old.. Thick hair is a gift, you can get your hair cut in layers but don't get your hair razored thinner..

Thick hair!?

get it thinned and layered

LOL - Ohh my GOD, I Look Like Professor Snape From Harry Potter!! Help??

I've got black hair (color, not the ethnic texture lol) and I recently got my hair cut mid-neck length. The idiot stylist didn't layer my hair like I asked him to.

Neck length, blunt hair cut + straight black hair = greasy HP teacher with a name that rhymes with "cape".

Any ideas to style my hair so people won't ask me how to make battle potions?

LOL - Ohh my GOD, I Look Like Professor Snape From Harry Potter!! Help??

I have a friend who has the same problem- hear's what you can do to spice it up

- Half Up half down- but pull two strands that are at the front of your head down on each side (very anime like- but when i didn't have bangs it what I did- now i cut bangs to my cheek (I hate them above my eyes, i need them slightly long- but i look like a man with my hair all the way back)

- You can do this with it completely up too- and even pull those strands completely over to one side and barret or pin it.

- messy curl your hand- that's when you get out the shower and scrunch it with hairspray

-when you are drying your hair- flip the ends up instead on one side- or straight iron the ends straight

- pull the front few peices back and barret or clip it on the top of your head

- pigtail- with the anime strands

Well those are just a few ideas- but i hope i helped!..and see someone about your hair asap an get those layers %26lt;3

LOL - Ohh my GOD, I Look Like Professor Snape From Harry Potter!! Help??

. . . . .pony tail

curling iron

get some bangs

get it cut again

LOL - Ohh my GOD, I Look Like Professor Snape From Harry Potter!! Help??

I got a bad hair coloring job, Can I get my money back?

Hey everyone!! I went to get my hair done yesterday Sat.at this salon, I got my hair darkened and highlights and also a cut! Well I had an appt. at 12.00 and didnt get called until 12.40, I was there for 3 and a half hours, and the stylist did everything wrong, I told him I didnt want to see any red in my hair and that I wanted my highlights to be honey not BLONDE!! This stylist had two assistants and i think has a very good reputation, he is always busy!!! I told him that I wanted to keep my side bangs long, and he cut them like full bangs and short! I told him I wasnt happy w either, the cut and color, and he said that next time he wont charge me for color!! I paid $150.00, and made an appt on tues, this salon is closed sundays and mondays, so he can change it, but I really wanna know if I just can come back on tues and ask for a refund? do u guys think its possible%26gt; will they give it to me ? I really dont want him to touch may hair EVER!!! Thanks!

I got a bad hair coloring job, Can I get my money back?

You can ask for a refund. He can either say yes or no. The fact that you stated you weren't happy yesterday and he offered you a free colour next time suggests he is approachable, but why did you pay up in the first place??? If you were so unhappy about it you could have refused to pay yesterday!

I got a bad hair coloring job, Can I get my money back?

It u go to court yeah!or at least if the guy(or girl) Is nice enough to get u a refund!

I got a bad hair coloring job, Can I get my money back?

He sounds full of himself. I doubt that you get your money back. Next time, you should try a place that you're familiar with. I'm sorry about your hair, that stinks =(

I got a bad hair coloring job, Can I get my money back?

It might be possible, but you shouldn't have left. If you weren't happy the thing to do is to deal with the manager. I'm not saying that what you did is wrong, but it's always best to deal with it right when it happens. When you go back you should definitely complain to the manager and ask for your money back.

I got a bad hair coloring job, Can I get my money back?

It doesn't hurt to try! If they say it is not possible I would insist that another stylist fix my hair the way I intended at no charge.

I got a bad hair coloring job, Can I get my money back?

Did you pay with a credit card? You can always complain about the charge.

I would phone the store manager and ask what the manager plans on doing to rectifying the situation.

I got a bad hair coloring job, Can I get my money back?

same thing happened to me....it was awful....... 90.00 and had red hair ...anyway she said I could come back and she would correct it for free..ya right...lmao...it came out worse I think she destroyed my hair on purpose.....oh well I will never go back to her ..look up some other salons found one that has been in business for 23 years so I picked her and thank god.......my hair color looks great but I have so much damage,,,three process and each was a double process....alot of damage ...

Is it just your high lights that are red.........he can fix that and go back ....tell them you want someone with more experience...you paid for it and hes working for you .........get what YOU want done...they will not give your money back sorry ....been there also...but be demanding on what you want ...good luck to you ...btw do some protein treatments to protect it on your next visit...from damage...get the esstainals by matrix...I love it my hairs so damage I have to use it or it would just break of to the root...it puts the protein back into my hair shes taken out with all the high lighting processing..

? I think I have a thyroid condition that's causing hair shedding.............?

I think that's it...My hair grows like water and is in good condition, I had a little over an inch cut a week ago and the stylist made several comments on the condition of my hair but it's shedding and has been doing so for over a year...I don't see what else it could be this isn't typical in my blood line, I was born with thick hair and even my Grandmother has thick hair still...What do you'll think...have you ever been through this and found out the reason for shedding...what can cause shedding please list some things before i go make an appointment...has anyone ever discovered that they had a thyroid condition causing shedding?

? I think I have a thyroid condition that's causing hair shedding.............?

You could very well have a thyroid condition, known as Hypothyroidism. (underactive thyroid gland) Some of the symptoms, are hair loss, dry skin, weight gain, tiredness, etc. The easiest way to find out if you have it or not, is to schedule an appointment with your doctor, tell him of your concerns, %26amp; ask him to order a special blood test for you. Without a doubt, it will confirm whether or not you have it. If you have it, you will be placed on synthroid, %26amp; in time, the pills will raise the various levels, within the thyroid gland. Periodically, you will have this special bloodwork repeated, %26amp; if any of the levels are low, the doctor may increase your daily dosage of synthroid. Hair loss can also result from stress also.

? I think I have a thyroid condition that's causing hair shedding.............?

yes thyroids can cause some hair loss i have thyroids, go get it checked its a simple blood test

? I think I have a thyroid condition that's causing hair shedding.............?

Thyroid problems run in my family, and I can tell you for sure that hair loss is one symptom. Other major symptoms are fatigue weight loss or gain or insomnia. There are also many different kinds of thyroid disorders, so narrowing down will be helpful.

You need to go to a doctor to have thyroid bloodwork done and explain your symptoms. Thyroid problems are tricky and the only way to be sure is to discuss it with a healthcare professional. However, once you've figured out what's wrong, there are certain meds you can go on that will help you a lot of your symptoms.

Good luck :)

? I think I have a thyroid condition that's causing hair shedding.............?

Thyroid could be one of several causes. Some medications will cause loss of hair for example Birth control, anti depressants, etc. also age and stress could play a signficant role.

? I think I have a thyroid condition that's causing hair shedding.............?

Yes, for me the shedding was due to hypothyroidism. To test for this have a morning TSH, Free T4, Free T3, and an antibody test.

When I first got on medication, it did not help with the hairloss. It ony helped when I switched to a natural thyroid medication called ARmour. Actually some hair grew back, especially the eyebrow area.

How do I change my image?

I've spent years being this frumpy working class single mom who speaks with a southern draw. My clothes are old and all neutral colored - all of my shoes are worn and tattered. I don't know how to wear makeup. I do have waist-length hair that I never cut, but it's the perfect creative canvas for a hair stylist.

I don't have a lot of money and I want to change my image. Where do I start?

How do I change my image?

Let's start with the clothes. I would suggest getting yourself two pant suits. One black and one beige.

These suits are great because you can wear them to work with a nice shirt or you can put a dressier shirt on for evening wear. (jacket optional for evening) Invest in some nice heels one black pair and one neutral color.

Don't go too drastic with the hair at first. You might want to try cutting off a few inches and adding layers. Put in a few highlights, see how you feel about it. Then take your time and find a hairstyle that you really like.

As for make-up I suggest Almay. They have this really cool collection called "play". Depending on your eye color, they have 3-in-1 eye shadows that play up your eye color and matching mascara. Keep an eye on walgreens, they sometimes have buy one get one free on Almay products.

How do I change my image?

How do I change my image?

Make up cause it makes the most differance, and it is the most least expensive to work with, the the hair and be daring something your not likly to do that really revamps you, you can also ask your friend what they think you need to change so that can beat the frumpy vibe, then work on cloths, they have this cool show on tlc called what not to wear check it out, they give good advise for body type and personal style.

How do I change my image?

You can go to any department store makeup counter and get a free makeover. If you go when they are not very busy they are always helpful with makeup tips etc. You don't have to buy all of the products they show you maybe choose one or two and then get a less expensive versions of the rest at Target etc.

The one place I would spend a little extra is going to a good salon for a haircut. Get recommendations friends coworkers as to a good salon in you area. Meet with whoever is going to do your hair and explain what you like how much time you have to work on your hair etc. Bring pictures of styles you like.

You will be amazed how a new haircut a little makeup will change your appearance. Good Luck!!

How do I change my image?

First thing to change? The way you see and describe yourself! Confidence is super sexy and inexpensive! Don't do an extreme haircut till you find a personal style you're comfortable with. Buy new shoes and accessorize - practice with colors, styles, till you find something you like, then you can start buying clothes to fit the different you! And have fun!

How do I change my image?

Make a scrapbook of things you like. Use any paper and paste on pictures from magazines, brochures, newspapers,e.t.c... It can be pics of anything- clothes, flowers, furniture... Then you will see what style and colours you like. Also include words, poems, quotes.. Because our physical apperance is often seen as a reflection of who we are- how can you know what you want to look like if you cannot articulate who you are and what you want to present to the world? Go to a beauty school, the treatments are performed by students and are affordable- same for hairdressing schools. I go op-shopping, garage sales, e-bay- I often smile whan people compliment me/my kids on their clothes because I probably spend a 1/4 of what their worth on them. Buy beauty magazines or get beauty books out of the library to help you learn hair/make-up techniques, and dont be afraid to ask your hairdresser, beautician, make-up service assistant for help as it is their job. Good for you for wanting to feel good and look good! Us women are too often on the bottom of our "to do"list! All the best!
