Damaged bangs. Help?

My bangs always flip out, and they never stay put after I straighten them. They're VERY damaged, but when I went to a stylist and SHE cut my hair AND straightened my hair (with the same straightener I have [Chi]) my bangs looked perfect.

I DON'T UNDERSTAND! HELP! please!

Damaged bangs. Help?

use a hot oil treatment from the supermarket and also sleep with conditioner in your hairs. after sleeping with conditioner in your hair a few times your hair will be shiny and healthy

Girls only?

I was wondering have any of you ever cut your own hair? I have and at the time I was only 13 and although it was a bad thing to do it looked alright.(not hair stylists)

Girls only?

Yes, I did and believe it or not it was the best haircut I ever had. but when it grew out and I tried to cut it again, it did not come out the same. I had to get it professionally fixed and ended up with short hair. But that first haircut was perfect. Beginners luck I guess!

Girls only?

Ive tried once or twice and it never ends well

Girls only?

No, but my brother did once.

Girls only?

i did it a few weeks ago but not a lot, just at the front and my fringe, didnt take 2 much off so looked ok, the hairdressers never do it the way i like so i just thought ide go 4 it! could have turned in2 a total disaster but everything was alright

Girls only?

no way- too scared. I don't even color my own hair!

Girls only?

I always cut my own hair but now it's longer I go to a hairdressers, you actually learn what suits you after a while. If it looks OK and no one comments then carry on doing it.

Girls only?

i tryed once but later on that night i went to the salon n had it done by proffesionals

Girls only?

He he he, I was 4 old year, and then not looked good.

Girls only?

never tried and never will, the way my hair looks is very important to me, only my stylist is allowed to do it and don't trust anybody else even if they have experience with cutting hair

Girls only?

no

Girls only?

I cut my hair every year during the summer and I love it. Give it a try. If you are skeptical try cutting a few inches off first and if you like it, cut more off. That's what I did the first time. After that, I was cutting shorter and shorter each year.

Girls only?

I used to cut my own hair all the time and sometimes still do, but only if I am cutting a small amount off. Its not that difficult if you really watch the stylist and keep it simple. As long as you like it, that is what matters most.

Girls only?

I don't do it because I can't see the back of my head well enough to cut straight.

Girls only?

I tried when I was really little and it ended up in an awful mess!

Girls only?

when i was 3 didnt want my fringe so i thought i'd get rid of it by cutting it off. It did not luk good.

Girls only?

I once cut my brother's hair... I threw it from the window so my mum wouldn't find out.. Well, she did. But cut my own hair - never

Girls only?

sometimes if you can do a good job

Girls only?

I done it once, and I vowed to never cut my own hair again. It looked alright in the front, but the back was hideous.

Girls only?

yes, i have at about your age i felt really sad

Girls only?

i've cut my hair like 15 times.

Girls only?

the first and last time i cut my own hair i was 5...

Girls only?

when i was little i used to cut my own bangs. i didnt want it long or short. i just wanted none at all. what was i thinking?

Girls only?

I usually just trim my bangs, or the front layers...otherwise it would probably be best to have someone help you.

Girls only?

no but my cousin cut her pont tail off

Girls only?

No, I never cut my own hair.

Girls only?

don't do it

To all girls who get their bikini lines professionally waxed!!! ....?

What age did you start going to a salon to get it done? Was it awkward? What methods did you try before and why did you choose to get it done? Also, did it hurt?

And another, random, question... when your in a salon getting your hair cut do you talk to the stylist, I tend not to, am I being rude?

To all girls who get their bikini lines professionally waxed!!! ....?

i think u can go at 16/18 and it hurts at first but then u get used to it

if they dont take to you then no your not being rule, its if they are talking to you and you dont talk back it is rude

hope i helped

Taking pictures with you to a hairstylist?

After a bad haircut experience I chose not to cut my hair but now after a yr I want to get a haircut because my hair has no style and looks horrible...

I have a specific hairstyle in mind....I found some pictures of the perfect hair cut but Im wondering will a stylist laugh at me for taking pics? whats the etiquette for presenting pics( I dont want to offend them)

Also, does anyone know of some amazing hairstylist in the city of Chicago??

Taking pictures with you to a hairstylist?

i would much rather see a pic of something. i hate it when people try to explain something and they really have it all wrong when they try to tell you what they are looking for. example: "i want a wedge" when in reality they wanted a stacked bob......BIG DIFFERENCE!

when you don't have a pic is when you are setting yourself up to get something you don't want. i would even ask for the stylist that is the best with that particular style so you have a better chance of being satisfied!

Taking pictures with you to a hairstylist?

TAKE PICTURES! we love having people show us so we know we are on the same page!

Taking pictures with you to a hairstylist?

No they wouldn't laugh cuz i know ppl who does that its better then tell them wat hair style u want, cuz one time i went to get my hair cut and layered i told them not to cut pass my shoulder and they did.. lol but 1 and half year later my hair covers down to my butt xD

Taking pictures with you to a hairstylist?

pictures are probablly the only way they'll see what you really want done......if you tell them....there is a high chance they might still mess it up;.....and once you find the perfect stylist....stick with him or her..

Taking pictures with you to a hairstylist?

They are not gonna laugh at you! Just tell the stylist thats how you want your hair to be cut. I don't live in Chicago so I don't know the good place...

Taking pictures with you to a hairstylist?

Trust me a stylist won't laugh at you [why would they?] It's an excellent idea to bring pics to show them what you're looking for. I think they probably appreciate it because it actually gives them a visual of exactly how you want it to look.

Taking pictures with you to a hairstylist?

take the pics---- the more expensive the stylist the better!

Taking pictures with you to a hairstylist?

Hello. YES I can tell you that as a hairstylist we appreciate pictures. Don't ever feel bad for showing your hairstylist exactly what you . A picture helps us to understand what the client has in mind. If he/she seems offended....look for someone else becuase they are wanting to do what they want and not what you want. Hope this helps!!

Taking pictures with you to a hairstylist?

No, pictures are great, just understand that if you show them a picture of something that can't be done with the hair you already have, they will try to explain it to you, and you shouldn't get upset or offended because they can only do what is possible with what they're working with. They may be able to suggest something similar though with your hair.

And no real etiquette needed; usually they'll ask you in the beginning what you're wanting done, and that is when you would say "something like this..." and show them the picture.

Taking pictures with you to a hairstylist?

I always take in a picture because I am very bad at describing a hair style. Also, my stylist can look at the picture and adapt the style for my hair texture.

How can lift my selfesteem?

Right now I feel like s.hit. I dont want to go outside, I feel like I'm the ugliest dude on school, before girls always hit on me now, they don't even stare at me, I feel that my eyebrows are horrible, at least if i was a girl I could've fixed it, but I can't, my hair is disgusting, i went ot cut my hair and the stylist did a really bad job. What can I do, I feel alone

How can lift my selfesteem?

you can know that a lot of girls feel the exact same way. look at how many girls posted "am i pretty". i'm sure it's not as bad as it seems, hair grows. and f.y.i you CAN do a little something to your eyebrows. as long as you don't full out get them totally done. and maybe they're not staring at you because they can tell you lack confidence. if you see a guy with his head down walking close to the wall i wouldn't stare at him either.

How can lift my selfesteem?

you can boost your self esteem by doing something that makes you feel good about yourself

How can lift my selfesteem?

oh eyebrow waxing is totally a normal thing for men! My man and I go all the time!

Don't be so hard on yourself! Buy yourself a new outfit and smile!

XOXOXO

How can lift my selfesteem?

Chill out. Everyone feels ugly every now and then. Go to the barber. They can trim your eyebrows for you. Go to Wal-Mart and get some facial cleanser for your face afterward. Then take a bubble bath. I know it sounds really gay to a guy but trust me, if you get the mint/eucalyptus bubble foam you'll feel rejuvenated and so much better!

How can lift my selfesteem?

A bad haircut can't make you that ugly.

Seriously this boy in my school had long blonde hair and then shaved his head and the girls are still all over him! [I never thought he was ever cute though.] Anyways you get the point.

I'm sure your still hott! [=

Okay, if you've been following my hair saga, please help me out.?

I had damage done by chemical 8 months ago and it has been cut cut and cut since then from shoulder length to now about chin length, but shorter on the sides so had to get about 10 extensions in each side to match it up. The top is short. The idiot cut it in short layers all over back in January and my hair grow SOOO slowly anyway because it is fine and thin and has a natural curl to it, but still some straightener in it on the ends. I got a trim today, and the stylist I used to use when I had long beautiful hair (who I now will ONLY use her!!! - learned my lesson) said to leave the extensions in the sides or I would be devastated by the sides. She said since mine is SOOO fine and soft (like a baby's), that I would have to use heat to style it (hair dryer, curling iron, or flat iron) but to not do that every day. She said to try to skip washings if I could and just use some heat on it instead. It looked AMAZING when she styled it with the flat iron!!! I just don't have a lot of

Okay, if you've been following my hair saga, please help me out.?

yikes. if that had happened to me, i would be PISSED.

uhm, i say wash it fresh every morning. since your hair is probably pretty damaged, that may not be the best thing. it may be better to let your natural oils spread through your hair, which will help heal it. so, if you are not going anywhere, try to hold off on washing it for a couple days. also, try a deep conditioner if you are going to need to kill it with heat every day (though i suggest not to...)

i feel so bad for you!! i hope it all works out!!!

What color should i dye my hair ?

Okay . So i am a brunette, and i have dark dark dark brown eyes. My hair is really thick , and is cut in layers , goes down below the chest. First i got highlights. They looked natural, had a tone of orange. Then I got blond highlights . They were to blond, so the stylist toned them and i got a mix of different blond tones . Basically I'm tired of my highlighted hair and want to do something new . I can either dye my hair back to the brunette i was , to dye it a light brown , or get more highlights . What do you think i should do ?

What color should i dye my hair ?

i think light brown would look really cute!

What color should i dye my hair ?

light brown.

good luck, peaccee

What color should i dye my hair ?

Why would you want to dye your hair?! Its TERRIBLE for you hair. If i were you i wouldnt dye it.

What color should i dye my hair ?

Why dont you just die it a new colour? Highlights are so cliche like seriously... Go for a new colour! Soften it up a bit or Edge it out. Whichever you prefer. If you really want a hair change get it cut. No a lot but you know a cut where people can tell thats its been cut. =]

What color should i dye my hair ?

A lighter brown would be good because it will blend well over your blonde highlights and it is still different from having your natural dark brown hair.

What color should i dye my hair ?

dying your hair is bad for it, and expensive, but if you want to dye it, you should dye the bottom layers dark brown, and the top layers light brown, that way the dark brown shows through the light in areas, but doesn't look, cheap, tacky, or highlighted. But it really should be your choice, it IS your hair after all.

What color should i dye my hair ?

i think u should dye it light brown and get dark blonde highlights

*hope this helps*

-Allison

What color should i dye my hair ?

Hair dyed to dark or light above its natural color looks awful. I had a similar problem, my hair is light brown and I blonde highlights. What I did was to just dye my natural cover over them, looks good as new. So I think you should dye it back to your natural color, or if you want something different, maybe a little lighter.

How do I spike my hair up like this Japanese Rocker kid?

http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n41/k...

I want my hair to do something like that. A sequence of photos with Japanese captions underneath only give me a vague idea of what I should do.

I know I won't get my hair EXACTLY like that because I don't have the cut for it, but I want to be able to get the same look in general.

MY HAIR + MY UGLY FACE:

http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n41/k...

I'm between stylists right now and haven't settled with one yet. I asked the stylist who gave me the haircut in my picture and she said to use a wax but she was too busy to tell me exactly how. I've asked another stylist and he told me to just use alot of hairspray. He even tried it on me but all it did was fall over.

A pomade seems to have the same effect.

I tried got2b's glue and that seems to work but, the thing is, I don't know how to use it to achieve the look I want D:

Should I go back and try to be friends with a girl that is in love with her ex?

To make a long story short, I realized that I had strong feelings for my stylist that had cut my hair for the last 7 years. We were discussing relationships and before I could admit my feelings for her she tells me she is still in love with her ex and that she wants to get back with him. Needless to say, I was devastated, but I did not say anything at the time.

I realized I could not hold my feelings back and wrote her a long letter telling her how I felt. She texted me back telling me she was flattered by my letter but that she could not get over her ex and really wanted to get back with him. Still devastated, I left her a voice mail telling her that I was going to be better off not seeing her again.

Thing is, I really cannot get over her. Songs on the radio and other things keep reminding me of her. Should I still stay away completely or should I swallow my pride and go back to her even though I know she will likely never return my feelings for her?

Should I go back and try to be friends with a girl that is in love with her ex?

You will be wasting your time if you go back. It will only do you harm. You'd be better off going forward and looking for someone who is available.

Should I go back and try to be friends with a girl that is in love with her ex?

get a new stylist

Should I go back and try to be friends with a girl that is in love with her ex?

Just stay away from her... you can do better. She is really pathetic if she is still in love with her ex (it took me like a week to get over my ex)

Just keep busy, and meet new people.

Should I go back and try to be friends with a girl that is in love with her ex?

You've already said more than enough and she's already made it plain that she's not into you.

Do yourself a favor and get over her by dating other gurlz.

Should I go back and try to be friends with a girl that is in love with her ex?

Leave her alone... try to get over it. Easier said than done.

Even if you do get her, you have to ask yourself if you want to be in a relationship with someone whose heart is not entirely yours.

Should I be risky and get a LOT of layers? (saw it in a magazine)?

In Glamour, in the January issue, there were a bunch of hair cuts that they showed, as a suggestion and for ideas. One of them had a LOT of layers all over the girl's head, and I would think that would look so cool! I really want to get tons of layers, but it can either look really good, or really bad. I can usually make a hair cut look great even when the stylist screws up bad, but for this one I'm scared. Should I risk looking great, or not risk looking like my head came out of a shredding machine?

Should I be risky and get a LOT of layers? (saw it in a magazine)?

Well, go for it. Tell the person that'll cut your hair to even out the layers. It shouldn't have too much, and it shouldn't have too less. I have my hair layered and it looks great. I have some compliments about my haircut.

At first, I thought my hair looked horrible. But after I took a shower, wet my hair, and used a hair dryer, it looked great.

Should I be risky and get a LOT of layers? (saw it in a magazine)?

well i say go for it because i am a risk taker and you only live once..if you trust your hairstylist then discuss it with them and do it..you dont have to get it exactly like the pic because you are not just like the model..u can train it for your look..

Should I be risky and get a LOT of layers? (saw it in a magazine)?

i wouldn't risk it. a lot of layers looks great on a very few people. try putting a few and if they don't seem to stand out as much as you want them to get a few more. and so forth.

Should I be risky and get a LOT of layers? (saw it in a magazine)?

go ahead risk it

Should I be risky and get a LOT of layers? (saw it in a magazine)?

Since a haircut has nothing to do with chemicals that do irreversible damage, I would definetely take the risk. I'm 22 and rarin' to go! I wouldn't even mind dying it a bold colour as long as I'm doing it because I like that look. Recently, I had a short, layered haircut that looks a lot like the one in my avatar. At the salon, it looked very glamourous and all. But, two days later, I realized that I had cut it too short, and it upset me a bit. I was used to bad haircuts as a preteen, and I know I aught to have learnt something from there. Yet, I went ahead and asked for too many layers than was good for my soul. The difference between the haircuts then and now is that I hold my head up high and see beauty in the imperfection as opposed to the shy, awkward way I took it up as a 12-year-old.

Should I be risky and get a LOT of layers? (saw it in a magazine)?

well ive layered hair !!!!!! lol it aint that bad !!!!! :P but make sure the shortest layer aint that short (no less than top of the ear ) !!!! or else u'll wake up with a "big" head !!!! ...

Should I be risky and get a LOT of layers? (saw it in a magazine)?

I'd be really careful... If you get layers starting too high up you have to style is EVERY day and make sure it's perfectly straight, EVERY DAY. Or else you'll have a mullet... Those styles are dangerously close to mullet already so if you want one you have to be willing to put alot into making it work.

How do I get this hairstyle? (Help needed please!)?

Whenever I take this picture to a hair salon they cut it all wrong. The first person cut my fringe up to my eyebrows when Cruise's is much longer. When I'd regrown my hair I tried a different stylist and they cut my sideburns way too short when Cruise's are really long.

So, I'm looking for sort of step-by-step guide on how I can get this hairstyle. I'll choose the best answer too!

How do I get this hairstyle? (Help needed please!)?

It's layered, it's long on the sides and his bangs probably come down close to the end of his nose when not swept to the side. Make sure you mention this when you go to the next stylist.

PS: Don't skimp on money. If you want a good cut and a good stylist, it'll costcha.

How do I get this hairstyle? (Help needed please!)?

find an array of pictures from every angle and say i want this tell them whatt has gone wrong in the past :_)

i dont think you should do it yourself...

How do I get this hairstyle? (Help needed please!)?

go to haircuttery. that place is great

How do I get this hairstyle? (Help needed please!)?

Well... It's good that you took the picture to the hair dressers to tell them what you want, because some people are scared to do that.

The one thing you could do is go to a hair dresser and get a consultation first. Tell them what you want and that you want longer diagonal bangs and you want it shaggy and long. And once you find a hair dresser you trust, stick with them!

Good Luck!!

How do I get this hairstyle? (Help needed please!)?

Hi,

You should get a picture of what you're exactly wanting. Go to a hairdressers, mens barber or even a salon, show them the picture...and than snip snip snip...make sure you look after your hair and wash it 1 or 2 a week. You can also use treatments, gels and mouses.

Tip- Don't brush your hair when it is wet, wait until it is damp or fully dried.

How do I get this hairstyle? (Help needed please!)?

I'm very picky about my hair style also, here's what I'd do,I know hairstylist don't really like working from photos because

you have to keep in mind if you don't have the same shape face as the person in the photo the haircut may not look like what you want, then show the photo and take your time explaining what you do and don't want, like "leave sideburns long,Please don't cut fringe up to eyebrows, and then just find someone who will please you and stick with them,it's a process, don't be afraid to speak up!

How do I get this hairstyle? (Help needed please!)?

step 1) call up the Hollywood Makeup Artist and Hair Stylist Guild in Hollywood

step 2) ask for Kandy Walken's phone number (she cut Tom's hair)

step 3) arrange a hair appointment

step 4) fly to Hollywood %26amp; get it cut right!

How do I get this hairstyle? (Help needed please!)?

best thing to do is to specifically tell your hairdresser what to do. like tell them not to cut your fringe or your sideburns too short and ask them to do it a bit longer. that way they can do it and you can see for yourself and if it needs a bit more they can always go and cut it some more. be very specific and let them know exactly what you want. otherwise they will just do it.

i hope that helps.

How long will chemically burned hair take to grow back?

I feel my hair isnt growing after it was chemically burned at a professional stylist. my ends are dead and I dont dare cut it because it really isnt growing..it has been ,almost, 2 years now! what can i do!?!?!?!

How long will chemically burned hair take to grow back?

GET YOUR ENDS TRIMMED!

DUHH!

How long will chemically burned hair take to grow back?

You need to get it cut and also condition it alot. Try not to wash it too much with shampoo cause that will just dry it out more. Try sebastians potion 9 its about $20.00 but it is a really good leave in conditioner. Also try hair masks.

How long will chemically burned hair take to grow back?

Ah, yes! Something most of us have done in our lives! The news is not great but it could be worse. You really do need to get a significant cut. There are tons of mid or shorter length styles that are popular right now. Unfortunately, if you don't cut it, it will continue to break %26amp; split and will not allow for proper growth. Get a great cut, a great shampoo %26amp; deep conditioner. One more thing, if you blow dry, straighten, or use a curling iron then a heat protector would help alot. Remember, it may suck now..... but it WILL grow back! Good luck!

Good luck!

Is there grey color dye or hair processing?

I actually would like to have my hair silvery or refined grey. Is there a product that will take it from the blonde (almost brassy at times) dyed color to its more natural grey now that the majority of it seems to be a quite nice mix of silver and pale blonde to brown. My hair is long and I do not want to wait the three years or so for it to slowly grow out nor do I wish to cut it short. I have asked my stylist but she just highlights it although she has suggested lowlighting. Not sure why she did not decide that was the option. Thanks for any input you might have.

Is there grey color dye or hair processing?

i actually have this dilemma in my salon. one of my clients is our local santa. our demi-permanent color line makes a "pearl" (white-ish gray) and a "silver" (more steel gray). i mix the two as a toner when i bleach santa's hair and beard, so he has the more traditional gray santa hair.

i have never seen over the counter gray color.

you need to look for a salon that uses wella color. more specifically, wella color touch demi-permanent color. i can't remember the names of the colors, but the pearl one, which is lighter, is 10/89, and the silver one (darker) is 8/81. colors don't give the same effect to all people. and if your hair is highlighted, the hairs your stylist doesn't pick up that remain natural will NOT be affected by demi-permanent color. demi-permanent color is an oxidative deposit-only color, meaning, it is long lasting (approximately between 4 to 8 weeks, depending on your hair, your shampoo, how often you shampoo, and a few other variables) color that can only darken, or give tone on tone coverage.

if you have a local regis salon, give them a call, as most regis salons use wella color.

hope this helps!

Do you know of any products to help with permanate flat iron damage???

My hair is or should I say was down my back until I went to this hair stylist that used to pull her old flat iron on my hair so hair that my ends curled up permanently. I just got 4 inches cut off to start over healty but now Im still seeing my hair permanlty curled or crinked and split all the way up, I cant cut all of my hair off. What should I do.

Do you know of any products to help with permanate flat iron damage???

Oh wow that is terrible.....I am so sorry to hear that. I would go back to that lady and show her what her "skills" did to my hair.... In the meantime .....

I would go and get my ends trimmed regularly ...then I would do some at home deep conditioning. You can go to Sally's Beauty Supply and get a good "deep" conditioner you can either get it in packs or a jar of it ...i would recommend getting a jar ..and its not really expensive and get a pack of processing caps. Then I would wash my hair then apply a generous amount of conditioner and then put on a processing cap then take a thin damp towel and microwave it for 35-45 seconds and wrap it around your hair. I would leave this on for an hour or longer if you want just remember to keep reheating the towel. Then when you are done rinse really well and at the end of the rinse turn the water to cold and rinse really quick in just cold water. I would do this two or three times a week if time will allow it . Drink lots of water and try to eat healthy and remember to get your hair trimmed and try and let your hair air dry whenever you can and your hair will start to get healthy again. And when your ready you can still use your flat iron and things just remember to do a deep conditioning at least once a week even once your hair gets healthy.....

Hope this was helpful ~~

Good Luck ~~

You can good a good deep conditioning treatment or jar at Sally's and it isn't expensive and make sure you ask the clerk there that it is a color safe product, i feel certain it will be but you never know. I try alot of the home remedies and most of them work.....just be careful if you try them because a few of them did lightened my color ... :(

Do you know of any products to help with permanate flat iron damage???

Try this products.^_^

Do you know of any products to help with permanate flat iron damage???

It really depends on your hair type.

Normally a shower, shampoo and conditioner should remove whatever a flatiron styles your hair.

Garnier Fructis has a soothing cream that might give some nutrients back into your hair. I am sure other brands also have their own.

A ceramic flat iron that can be used for dry and wet hair may also help so that you can get your hair to how you want it. Just make sure you do not have the temperature on too high.
